Goldy's 10th Birthday!!

So you are probably wondering "Who is Goldy?"

Goldy is Megs pony who we have had since she was born. Since Goldy was born, not Megs. ;)
So I am going to share some pictures from every year of Goldy's life. (except 2010, I couldn't find any and Megs is out of town without a computer so I couldn't ask her for any)

Hasn't she gotten dark over the years? Her Winter coat is always light, but she sheds out darker in the Summer.

It's raining here today, supposed to all weekend, which is a nice change from the 90 degree weather we had last weekend! (I can't believe I'm happy its raining!)
Maybe next week I will have some pictures of my friends new baby from when I go to visit to share with ya'll. :)

Belinda's 2nd Birthday

Today is Belinda's 2nd birthday! Yes, I know some of you might think I'm weird to do a post about a dogs B-day but, hey, everyone likes puppy pictures right??
And I am going to do a big picture post on Friday about Goldy's birthday which is also today.
So I won't overwhelm a post with too many pictures, I will post about Belinda today! :)

In November of her 1st year, Belinda had to go to the vet for surgery because she accidentally swallowed a baoding ball. Our grandma had given them to us a few years before and she found one and liked it because it jingled.

We only knew she swallowed it because when we were out feeding the animals Belinda ran by us and Megs said, "I think she swallowed the jingle ball, I just heard her jingle". I'm like "yeah right". Then Kai thought she heard it.  And then I thought I heard it so I picked her up and wiggled her and sure enough you could hear the jingle ball jingling inside if her!! So we had to take her to the vet because the ball was too big to come out by itself. :/ The vet and vet techs all thought that the jingling was hilarious!

Flowers & Gardens

My dad took this week off and we worked on preparing our garden for planting. After making it a little bigger and adding more dirt, rototilling and putting a better fence between it and our cow's pasture it is ready to go! Probably wait until Monday to plant as its supposed to be in the 90's tomorrow and Sunday!!

Kai got some pictures of some flowers last night and I thought I'd share them. :)

When I started this blog I proposed to do a post every week, this one isn't much but, hey its a post! ;)

On Wednesday I took my friend Sarah to her prenatal appointment as her back would hurt to drive her car, and then we went to her parents house and I helped her take pictures of some of her goats.
Then we went to her chiropractor appointment and then did a little shopping.
Yesterday we got a phone call saying that Sarah was in labor!!
I called this morning and last night at like 7:40 she had a 8lb 4oz (hope I remembered right) little girl!!! Victoria has arrived! Hopefully I will be able to share pictures soon!!

Movies I like....

Ok, I decided to do a post on some movies I like. They all have a favorite actor of mine, "Harry".. er....ah...Alex Etel. :)

You all should recognize him from Cranford and Return to Cranford.
I'm not going to give a short blurb about it as I'm not sure what to say to do it justice. ;)

If you have not watched Cranford I highly suggest you watch it! Its a great classic! :)


The Water Horse is about a boy named Angus who find a mysterious egg at the shore and it hatches and is a mysterious creature who once it grows is the monster of Loch Ness. :)

I really like it, and of course they all have great Scottish accents, I mean they're all English actors! :D


From Time to Time is a good one. It is very interesting and strange yet.....
Time to Time is about a boy tamed Tolly who goes to visit his grandmother while his mother is busy trying to find out what happened to his father who went missing in action. While with his grandmother, he starts to find out about things that happened in the past in the mansion where his grandmother lives. I won't tell anymore as you will have to watch it for yourself. ;)

It's is a little strange, but its not really weird. I mean it has ghosts, but they don't haunt and scare them, it's like they're telling a story. You really need to watch it to get what I mean. :)



On another subject, this week Kai did some scrimshaw on a horn. It is very good!
Megs drew the ship and Kai carved over it and inked it.

I'm doing one also, but I haven't finished as I am saving it for Brigade so I have something to demonstrate to the visitors. :)

She also painted a box for the English paper piecing at the fort and added a fabric pattern to all the hexagons on the box. Here is what it looks like:

We got a Volleyball net two weeks ago and finally got to set it up again after the rain.
So we've been playing the last few days. Or should I say trying too, we need lots of practice!
It's also hard to play with only three players... Anyone want to come play Volleyball with us?!?! ;)

We also moved our old chicken house and we are going to convert it for our Turkeys to use as our chickens do not like the turkeys and have gone on an egg strike since they moved into their pen. :P :/

Rain Showers & Baby Showers

This last week it felt like Spring again! Were as lately you'd think it was July it's been so hot and sunny!
But this last week we've had some rain off and on. Its been a nice break from the heat. :)
We even had some thunder last night! I love thunderstorms, I like the sound of thunder and watching for lighting.
This last week I got...something...respiratory infection? Not sure, but was very tired and felt clogged in my head and chest. Not fun. Mom got it too, but thankfully both the girls and dad stayed healthy!
 Due to the rain, and the whatever I had, I was unable to get any pictures to share. :/

But I told Megs last week  I would try and post some funnies every once in a while.
And well, since it's been raining, here's a Peanut's I liked and thought I'd share. :)

Last Friday, my friend Sarah had a Baby Shower. I went and took my camera of course. You see she's a photographer and has been giving me tips and I thought her baby shower would be a good place to practice and get some nice pictures for her to have. :)

Do you see the adorable stroller? I'm sure there will be lots of baby pictures taken using that! :D

A little under a month to go until the her baby comes!

Also one month to go until the Fort Vancouver history schools graduation!
I'm in the circle of young adults people who help plan/organize it and we have a fun idea in the works!
But I can't tell as I don't want any of the kids that go to the schools to find out just yet.
Hoping to get pictures from that to share as I won't be in 1840 period clothing and can take my camera. ;)

5 Min Thursday

Nothing much exciting happened this week. so quick post before I head of to "dreamland". ;)

On Monday we got a pair of Turkeys from our friends.
They are really cool! I like the sounds they make!

Today we got our new Volleyball net!! Yay!! Asked some friends what kind they had so we knew we'd be getting a good one. Got to play some today, which is always really fun!

Coops, Flowers & Funnies

Yesterday and today we finished up our chicken coop! Yay!!
So now we just need to move the chickens in. :)
Here are some pix of what we got accomplished.

The gate to the outside run that dad built out of some old wood, looks really neat!

For the roosts we used branches we'd got when we cut some trees down, they were the perfect size & look great!

And of course we needed some nest boxes. Hoping the chickens will like these new ones.:D

And Kai was out taking pictures today so I thought I'd post some for you all as I've been so busy this week I didn't find time to take any. :/ Thanks for getting these pix Kai!

This Saturday is the last day of 1st year School at Fort Vancouver.
I remember when we were in the class instead of helping out teach the class. (well Megs & Kai were in it, I was to old)
That was 3 years ago for Megs and 2 for Kai!
