Fall is here!

And it still gets too warm in the afternoon's on most days for me to wear sweaters.... 😑
But hey, as long as the sun stays out, I won't complain!

This past Saturday we had our Summer's End Promenade.
It was so fun!! We had more people attend in costume then ever before that I can remember, and had more guys there in costume than ever before!
Which is great because we need them there otherwise those great outfits don't get to be shown off!

I'm ashamed to say that even after planning, leaving early to get down there... I forgot my camera!!
Ahhhh! That was the whole reason we wanted to get there 1 1/2 hrs early!!
Oh well, I was able to help some of the ladies with their hair, and do some others things.

I did get to get pictures with my phone, which I'm glad I got a new one with a better camera than my last phone....
The group shots turned out almost as nice as my camera, but the single shots were a little eh.

So I shall share pictures from the era's we had.

Here you shall start in the 1840's and go forward by decade (except we didn't have any 1850's) until you reach our final era of the 1940's.
Isn't it amazing how the styles changed over 100 years!

1840's outfits
The 1860's (the 1850's are very similar, but with bigger and rounder hoops)
The 1970's, from hoops to bustles.
1880's, still bustles, but they're getting smaller
1890's, practically no bustle left, they are more of a roll seated at the top of the hips.
And now we start into the Anne of Green Gables era, the early 1900's!
The 19 teens, these outfits are all from 1917, 100 years ago this year!! The boy-scout uniform is in the front. :)
The Roaring 1920's

The 1930's
And the 1940's! This era seemed to be the most popular this year!

And then of course we had to get all the guys together for a guys only picture!
Only missing 1 of the guys! we had 18 guys this year!! Yay for all the outfits they got to show off!! :D

And now we are on break for the main events until Christmas at the fort on Dec. 9th.
We do have the schools to prepare for, including going over and accepting applicants this weekend.

Then we have the 2 orientations for those new students where us adults and 2nd year+ students show them the do's and don't of how to interpret and they get a "what to expect" from the leaders of the schools. :)

So how's your Fall going so far?
Hope studying is going well for those who are in school or collage. :)

Campfires & Candlelight

Well, Campfires & Candlelight, the biggest event of the year and I think might be my favorite (can't decide) has been and gone.
I can't believe its already over!!! The year is just going by way to fast!!

Anyways, at Campfires & Candlelight the girls were in the Oregon Trail camp in 3rd person,
Kai got a new very pretty brown dress and apron and got to wear it for the first time at this event!
And Megs also got a new apron to go with the pretty green dress she wears. :)
My dad was inside the stockade in 1st person year 1844, the year a fire burned up to 300 ft away from the fort wall! (can't remember which side)
I was an American Red Cross Nurse in the WWI "camp" in 3rd person.
(ok, we had a fly tent and a few pictures of the saw mill that was in operation at the time)
This was my third year in the WWI "camp" and once I again refreshed my mind to the subject we talk about to visitors I think I can once again talk about in my sleep! ;)

I was able to take pictures on my break, so I shall share them here. :)

Oregon Trail Camp, they used a fly tent too. :)

Hmm.... looks like a group of trouble makers.... ;)
Everyone had so much fun and we of course were all wiped out by the time we got home!
Didn't get home and into bed till 11:45!

Next Saturday us girls are going to the Summer's End Promenade, where everyone dresses in era's from the 1840's to the 1940's and promenades back and fourth and talk  to visitos. :)
Megs will be dressed in buckskins and portraying Sarah Winnamucka
I'll be in a 1945 dress and we're not sure what Kai will be dressed in yet......

It's raining today............... yeah. *sigh* :/
Oh well, we need it. :)

Oh! We're getting a surprise tomorrow! I will post pictures next week. ;)

Have a great weekend everyone!
