What I've been up to...

Hmm... Looks like I have neglected my blog for over a month.... Sorry about that.
I do have a good excuse! Several actually, though I know excuses are..
um...  poor and inadiquite. (heh, I looked that meaning up.) 😀

So in August we have several things happen!

1. My sister Megs and I applied and were accepted for a season position at the Ark Encounter in KY! It's cool! Go check it out! 
2. Our grandparents are moving up to live with us from CA. So we've been preping their house and getting everything ready for them. They will be here THIS WEEKEND!!! 😮😁
3. Finally getting the last of our fencing up so the yard is fully enclosed for our doggies so they can't run up to the road.
4. We've been busy preping things so I'm all caught up on getting the critters ready for winter BEFORE I  leave for KY! Man, there is so much to do!

And this past Saturday the biggest event at the Fort, Campfires & Candlelight happened!
It was great! I was in the WWI camp again, 5th year in a row. (can't tell I like it or anything can you?) 😉

Camping!!

Two weeks ago we went camping for the first time in 10 years!!! 😮😆

It was a BLAST!!! Only complaint... to. many. bugs... mostly the gnats. 😒
But we got to go hiking, agate and crystal hunting in the creeks,
dry beds and the liquid ice filled ones. BRRRR! was it cold!

But we went with some family friends and everyone had fun.

This year, for my dad's birthday, some friends and us went to the Bow Picker for fish n' chips, then went up to the Astoria Column to eat them and show them the column as they've never been there before!
Then we all went to the shipwreck at the Fort Stevens beach.
So much fun!

Fun Times!

June 30th we went to the Ape Cave with friends.
SO much fun! We hiked 10 miles altogether that day, I got 25,439 steps! 
We also went to Lava Canyon, and since it was the last day of June why not stop at June Lake?

On the 4th we went to help our church in the Ridgefield Day Parade.
Loads of fun and I even made it into the Columbian!

That evening we went with friends to volunteer at Fort Vancouver and then stayed and watch the fireworks afterwards. SO AMAZING!!! Love Fireworks! 😊

A few months ago my computer had a glitch and I lost all my old emails and contacts.

Summer!

Happy first day of summer!!😎😎
Though I think the weather got a little confused....yesterday felt more like summer than today!
Yesterday it was 69 degrees already at 9am! Today? Cloudy and I think maybe 70 at 11am.... 😕

Been super busy the last few weeks. Working at my at home job, helping mom out with hers, taking care of goats and the other critters in the hot weather.
My sister Kai got Hand Foot and Mouth virus from the fort the last time we went, so she's been "quarantined" for the past 2 1/2 weeks. But she's finally about 98% better! Her hands are a bit red still from where the spots were, but except for that, you'd never know she was sick!

A friend and I are starting a Mini Dairy Goat club for the Pacific Northwest! There isn't one at the moment, and folks in this part of the country are wanting to have some live shows to take their goats to but you need to have a club sponsor the show, so....
I called my friend and said "you wanna start a mini dairy goat club?" and she said "sure!".... so!
We are only in our 2nd week of getting this going. Lots of planning and setting up.
We got our FB page up, working on a website now.... so we're moving along!

I've also got the V-show coming up, the online goat show I'm in charge of putting together.
So the next few weeks will be SUPER busy for me! 😊

Fort Schools Have Come to an End

Saturday was the final day of the Fort schools.
Quite warm that day, I went in civies and took pictures.

We have our first event of the season this Saturday!

Fort Day & More Baby Goats

This past Saturday was the 2nd to last day of 2nd yr. school at the Fort.
This was the first time I have ever gone to a Fort school day by myself.
Megs and Kai were sick, so they didn't go.
It was interesting not having them there, I found myself wondering where they were then remembering they weren't there... 😕

 I took quite a few food pictures as I was stationed in the kitchen to make sure we had boiling water for when the Apothacary's assistant got there to use in melting the wax for the salve.

May so far has been going really well for us.
This Wednesday OPB is doing a preview in the theater of the short documentary that we played in!
My sisters and I are in the dancing. Megs is playing the Whistle! 😄
It will air on OPB May 21st.
